Socrates/Erasmus is an exchange program funded by the European Union. The aim of the scheme is to encourage students in Higher Education to study for part of their degree in another country. All EU and EEA countries are involved in Socrates/Erasmus, as well as other countries, which have recently joined the scheme including Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia and Turkey. Students wishing to take part in the exchange program can spend between 3 and 12 months at a University* in another country studying towards their degree program
